John Snell, 2012

“Two Trees at Sunrise” was taken in Red River Gorge at an overlook I discovered several years ago while walking various ridge top trails to check out vantage points at the ends of those trails. The sun is only visible from this location during sunrise about two months out of the year, so that dictated my choice of when to be there. On this particular morning, the valley below me was filled with fog, and the sky lit up with color, too! Those factors, coupled with the pair of silhouetted conifers, made for a winning image!
